Story
Divine G, imprisoned in Sing Sing for a crime he didn’t commit, finds purpose in a theater group with other inmates in this story of resilience, humanity, and the transformative power of art. the actors rehearse different parts of the play. These are the actual audition tapes used to make the film.
The best movie I’ve ever seen
The group is criticized for not doing comedy, but their previous play was A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which is a comedy. Late Night with Seth Meyers: Anna Faris/Coleman Domingo/Jose Medeles (2024). The blades are designed by Bryce Dessner.
The cast was extraordinary
Coleman Domingo is incredible. The filmography is very unique and really sets the tone. The plot was well developed and paced.
I was very moved by this film
Definitely worth watching on the big screen. The film is based on the true story of the Reformed Through Art at Sing Sing theater program. Many characters are played by former participants of the program.
Just very nice
The emotional range of the characters in this film is extremely convincing. I was moved to tears several times during this movie. Touching and heartwarming, this film explores hope, grief and redemption.
